Gamble (2)The Middle Township Committee will recognize Officer Joseph Gamble as the June 2014 Employee of the Month. He is being honored for saving a life through his quick-thinking response during an emergency situation. Gamble will be formally recognized at the Township Committee meeting July 21 at 6 p.m.

“Officer Gamble exemplifies the excellent training and professionalism of the Middle Township Police Department under the leadership of Chief Chris Leusner,” Mayor Tim Donohue said. “Officer Gamble’s quick and level-headed response to a life-threatening medical emergency was the difference in saving the life of one of our residents. This is the type of work that goes on every day in Middle Township. It needs to be recognized. We should never take the work and sacrifice of our police officers and their families for granted.”

Gamble has been with the Middle Township Police Department since 2012. He was raised in Lower Township, where he served as a Class II officer. Married and the father of a nine-month-old daughter, Gamble states that his favorite part of his position is the “great work environment” that exists in Middle Township.

“Officer Gamble’s quick actions in administering CPR to an unconscious, unresponsive person saved a life. I am very proud of Joe and we are lucky to have him as a member of the Middle Township Police Department,” said Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner.

The Middle Township Employee of the Month program was initiated by the Township Committee to honor employees who exemplify the Township’s commitment to better delivery of services and going the extra mile for residents. The program culminates with the Darius Graham Employee of the Year honor that is named after one of the Township’s most beloved employees in its history.

Nominations for the Employee of the Month Program are available inside Middle Township hall at three locations: Human Resources and Training Department, Administration Department, and on the bulletin board. Residents from the Township who have had a very positive interaction with any Middle Township employee may pick up the one-page nomination form and fill it out in the employee’s behalf. Each month a Township employee will be selected; the winning nominee will receive a certificate at a future Township Committee meeting along with a photograph posted on the bulletin board.
