Middle Township Committee honored Patrolman Justin Vitola as the May Employee of the Month at its Monday, May 15 meeting.

This month, Vitola’s supervisor received a recommendation from an area resident commending the patrolman for getting a section of Rio Grande cleaned up.

“While Patrolman Vitola was having the community service workers clean up streets in Rio Grande, I asked him to check behind Oliveri’s,” the resident wrote.

“Vitola was able to remove ten bags of garbage.  It should be noted that he did this with one person.”

Committee members agreed that Vitola went above and beyond in seeing that the resident’s requests were dealt with in a timely manner.

The Employee of the Month program was started by the committee to honor employees who exemplify the township’s commitment to better delivery of services and going the extra mile for residents.  The program culminates with the Darius Graham Employee of the Year honor that is named after one the Township’s most beloved employees.

Nominations for the Employee of the Month Program are available inside Middle Township hall at three locations:  Human Resources and Training Department, Administration Department, and on the bulletin board.  Residents from the township can nominate employees by filling out a one-page form.  Each month a township employee will be selected.  The winning nominee receives a certificate at a future committee meeting along with a photograph posted on the bulletin board.
