Stimmel D EOMAt its 6 p.m. meeting tonight, the Middle Township Committee will honor Dawn Stimmel as the September 2015 Employee of the Month. Stimmel began her career in the Middle Township Welfare Office in March 1998 and transferred to Administration in July 2001. She currently serves as the Administrative Secretary.

“Dawn is truly a Jack of All Trades as our Administrative Secretary. She handles all the paperwork for the three Committeemen, is our Administrator’s right hand, processes dog licenses, deals with resident issues, serves as secretary of several boards and seems to volunteer at every event,” Mayor Tim Donohue said. “She is another great example of the many employees we have that work so hard for the town they love.”

Stimmel was nominated by Middle Township resident Patricia Ford-Roegner, who stated, “Dawn is so helpful in answering questions on changes in our community. Her responses are useful, timely and organized.”

“The fact that Dawn was nominated by a resident speaks volumes about her professionalism and courtesy,” said Committeeman Michael Clark. “She is often the public’s initial point-of-contact with the Township, and she sets a great tone by always going above and beyond to help.”

Stimmel, a resident of Green Creek, states that it is hard to pinpoint her favorite aspect of her job. “I love being with the people that I work with and interacting with the public. Every day is a new challenge,” she said. Married with three children and nine grandchildren, Stimmel states that spending time with her family, doing crafts and working on her house are her favorite pastimes.

“Dawn continues to quietly be an important part of Middle Township’s foundation,” said Deputy Mayor Dan Lockwood. “She brings years of experience to Town Hall, and thoroughly understands the policies and procedures that are vital to our daily operations.”

The Middle Township Employee of the Month program was initiated by the Township Committee to honor employees who exemplify the Township’s commitment to better delivery of services and going the extra mile for residents. The program culminates with the Darius Graham Employee of the Year honor that is named after one of the Township’s most beloved employees in its history.

Nominations for the Employee of the Month Program are available inside Middle Township hall at three locations: Human Resources and Training Department, Administration Department, and on the bulletin board. Residents from the Township who have had a very positive interaction with any Middle Township
employee may pick up the one-page nomination form and fill it out in the employee’s behalf. Each month a Township employee will be selected; the winning nominee will receive a certificate at a future Township Committee meeting along with a photograph posted on the bulletin board.

Tonight’s Township Committee meeting will be held at the Rio Grande Fire Hall.
