Middle Township is partnering with non-profit economic development agency UCEDC to offer a free Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship workshop series 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesdays, March 7 to April 11, at the Cape May County Technical High School, 188 Crest Haven Road in Cape May Court House.
Artists, crafters, collectors and entrepreneurs considering an e-commerce business are encouraged to attend the five-part workshop. Class size is limited and registration is required. Call Beth Filla at the UCEDC at 908-358-3005 or register online at www.ucedc.com/events.
Etsy is an e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items and supplies. The site is home to 1.7 million sellers who earned more than $2.8 billion in 2016 selling their crafts and collections.
The hands-on interactive workshop will focus on navigating Etsyś online platform, generating sales by using search engine optimization and other marketing techniques, taking quality photographs to use in your online store and basic accounting methods. This is a great opportunity for local small businesses to expand their market, or for those who always wanted to start a business.
Middle Township has been taking a proactive approach to growing the local economy, and offers monthly public meetings, low interest loans, and technical assistance for businesses.
