Full-Time Position in the Human Resources and Training Department

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT – Township of Middle, Cape May County, NJ

The Township of Middle is accepting applications for a full-time position in the Human Resources and Training Department. Applicants will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR staff in a support position. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. Under supervision, employee performs work in public sector human resources and benefits administration. Position includes assisting with the coordinating and administration of employee benefit programs, fringe benefit packages and pension plans. Completes and processes various forms required for enrollments, adjustments, terminations, benefits, and pension plans, which may also include those required for union dues, garnishments, and other deductions from pay. Candidates must have the ability to interact well with the public, fellow employees and public officials. Public sector human resources and benefits administration experience preferred. Experience in employee recruitment and retention, staff development, HR records management, HR policies development and legal compliance of FMLA/ADA/EEO/WC preferred. Effective communication skills, both oral & written, in potentially stressful situations, required. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel, is mandatory.
