As you know improving our reliability is essential for our company and our customers and upgrades are done every day by our employees and contractors. We appreciate your understanding as we have to continue to improve our electrical system in Middle Township and will cause some inconvenience to your residents.

Secondly, our contractor will be starting laying down matting today and will have the bike path around our Court Substation off Goshen Rd. closed during the day from tomorrow until August 20. (Weather permitting). From August 20 until around October 16 (contingent on weather), the bike path will be closed the entire time day and night because there will be heavy equipment that we have to safely protect the public from any injuries.  Riggs Distler will be proving signage.
We will be closing the section of the bike path in the area of our Court Substation off of Goshen Road until approximately October 16 contingent on weather.  Our contractor will be Riggs Distler and they will be installing mats for the installation of a few poles and other associated equipment and installing underground cable up a riser pole . The mats are being utilized so the contractor won’t damage the bike path.  That being said the bike path won’t be opened after working hours and signage will be utilized that bike path is closed.  This project is the first phase before we will be starting our transmission reliability rebuild  replacing the wood poles on Route 9 and a few steel poles near our Swainton Substation on Avalon Blvd.
Our second project will be our Lake Tap Middle Township to Wildwoods transmission rebuild where we will be replacing wood with steel poles starting around the bike path around Edgewood (see picture below). The project will commence post-Labor Day in September. The contractor will be utilizing mats and will require the bike path to be closed from Post-Labor Day to the end of November, weather permitting. The contractor has not been selected yet will be required to provide signage for the bike path closure.   Then the project will proceed to Edgewood Avenue and the railroad crossings.

Our third project, part of the Power Ahead distribution work that will be require upgrading our facilities along the bike path, north of the Rio Grande Substation. Currently, we are waiting for the environmental studies to be completed in order to determine the timeline of this project to begin in 2021.
