Notice of Upcoming Roadway Resurfacing Middle Township- Goshen Swainton Road (CR 646)

The County of Cape May’s 2021 Maintenance Paving contract will continue with the following roadway anticipated to be resurfaced on Tuesday May 31, and Wednesday June 1, 2022

Goshen Swainton Road CR 646  The limits of paving will be begin at U.S. Route 9 and extend west to Court House/ South Dennis Road (CR 657).   On May 31, 2022 the contractor will be resurfacing the west bound lane of Goshen Swainton Road and anticipates completing the west bound lane by day’s end. The contractor will resurface the east bound lane on June 1, 2022.

On May 31st, resurfacing is expected to begin at 7:00am and will be completed around 6:00pm. During the operation, Goshen Swainton Road between Seigtown Road and U.S. Route 9 will be closed to thru traffic. Traffic heading south on Route 9 wishing to turn west onto Goshen Swainton Road will be detoured to Seigtown Road then  to Goshen Swainton Road. Those motorists wishing to continue east on Goshen Swainton Road will be directed east onto Seigtown Road.

Along Goshen Swainton Road between Seigtown Road and Court House South Dennis Road, two way traffic will be maintained, although as the paving operation enters Goshen Swainton Road between Siegtown Road and Court House South Dennis Road, flaggers will alternate traffic. Single lane alternating traffic will then exist between Seigtown Road and the moving paving operation. Residents will always have access to their homes during the resurfacing. The resurfacing activities will result in traffic delays and motorists are urged to avoid the area during the paving operation.  Upon completion of the resurfacing on Tuesday evening, two-way traffic along the entire route will resume.
